The Story Continues...
To the towns geese of Gaggleville it was a day like any other...little did they know, a new arrival was about to change everything!
Gibby Goose opened her front door to discover a basket had been placed on her stoop! Full of goose excitement, she picked up the carefully wrapped bundle and saw...a baby gosling!
Gibby stifled her happy honk so to not wake the sleeping fowl and declared..."Welcome to Gaggleville little one. I will call you...Gertie!"
Gibby knew it was time to introduce Gertie to her fellow geese of Gaggleville. She proceeded to tell Gertie the story about her arrival to this wonderful town...
As soon as the train pulled into Gaggleville, Gibby Goose knew she had made the right decision to move there. Out the window, she could see the charming town nestled between lush, rolling hills, and a bright red farmhouse in the distance. In the center of Gaggleville was a park, which had shady nature trails and a large pond glittering in the sunlight. Everywhere she looked, she saw geese going about their daily lives. She was nervous to start over in a new place, but she knew in her heart Gaggleville was the right place to be.
She had just stepped off the train before hearing a voice call out, “Hello dear! You must be Gibby!” She looked around and saw a smiling goose with rainbow wings. “I’m Sally the Social Butterfly, Mayor of Gaggleville! I’m here to show you around the town and introduce you to fellow Gaggletonians.” Sally wrapped her wings around Gibby in a warm, welcoming hug.
Sally fluttered down the platform, and Gibby waddled quickly, trying to keep up with her. She had never met a goose with this much energy before. They arrived at the park and saw goslings splashing in the shallows under the supervision of Finnegan Fisher. In the distance, young geese swam laps as he blew on his whistle furiously. “There’s a big meet against the Ducks next weekend,” he explained to Gibby between whistle blasts. “We’d love to see you there!”
They stopped by the Community Center and met the Director, Barbara the Bingo Goose, who invited Gibby to the upcoming Bingo tournament. In the abundant community garden, they came across Nelda and Norm Gnome, who were busy weeding and planting seeds.
Sally fluttered toward Main Street, the heart of Gaggleville. As they toddled down the street, the smell of kelp grew stronger — it was coming from Chef Shauna’s gourmet restaurant, Gaggle Grill. “I’d love to have you in for lunch sometime,” said Chef Shauna. “I can prepare a tasting menu for you, so you can try everything.” Gibby was definitely going to return — maybe every day, she joked.
They passed the travel agency and waved to Howie Hawaii and Sandy Beach, who were packing up for their annual trip to Maui. At Goose Get-Ups, Gibby met Señor and Señorita Sweater, and she found out where all the local geese found their gorgeous, handmade clothing.
They visited the Gaggleville Zoo, where they met Zookeeper Zack and his eight adopted goslings. They were all incredibly cute, but Gibby thought Seamus Shark and Gerald the Jittery Giraffe were the sweetest of the bunch. Both of them made her promise she’d come back to play fly-and-seek with them.
On the outskirts of town, they met Yvonne Yeehaw, who gave Gibby a tour of her farm, including the bright red farmhouse that caught her attention. “If you ever want a horseback riding lesson, just give me a holler,” Yvonne told Gibby.
It took a while, but eventually Sally showed Gibby around the whole town, from the Goospital to the local gym, Gaggle Gains. They were starting in a new direction when Sally said, “I know everyone is excited to spend more time with you, but I bet you can’t wait to rest your beak after your long day of travel. I think it’s time to see your cottage — follow me!”
When they arrived, Gibby was amazed by the beauty of her own cottage, decorated with delicate latticework. It was painted a pale yellow with blue shutters, and looked just as sunny and bright as she expected her time in Gaggleville to be. She even had her own rose bushes and a big porch with a swing.
Sally’s husband Sonny, the Town Realtor, was waiting with the keys when they arrived, and when he handed them to Gibby he said, “It’s all yours now,” and it really felt that way to Gibby.
Sally and Sonny left Gibby to settle in. She stood on her porch as the couple walked down the street, looking out at her new home. A wide smile spread across her bill. She couldn’t wait to start her new life in Gaggleville.
