A most dependable item.
I haven't had an opportunity to use the grinder as of this writing but plan to very shortly. Want to grind up chicken for chicken salad the way I remember it as a child. I'm sure I will have many other uses for it as times goes on.

My Mom had one of these, when I was growing up.
Growing up, my mom used the meat grinder all the time, to make ham salad sandwiches or baloney salad sandwiches. I loved those sandwiches and plants to make them and many other dishes using my,grinder.

One of my great purchases
I use it mostly for all kinds of meats, but I use it for vegetables also and sometimes mix the ground veggies with the ground meat and then grill the patties. grinding a little onion in with hamburger meat makes a delicious hamburger.

Just what I expected it to be.
I used to have one that my Mother gave me, but it rusted out do to a water leak. I've not used this one yet, but soon will. I used to use the other one all the time. I use it for meats, veggies, and nuts.
I checked around and the price of this one was very affordable.

Not like my mother's
It came with a black grease on it (to keep from rusting). After I washed it, the grate & cutter were already rusting, so I had to clean off the rust & put cooking oil on it. The cutting blade is inside, which is OK ~ my mom's was outside & she had a couple other types of cutters to change off. Wish I had kept Mom's!! Not sure if I can recommend or not, since I haven't tried to use it yet.

this item is very poorly made. the casting of the clamp is out of line and the grinder cannot be clamped to anything. I mqanaged to use it one time not clamped to anything. It then found it's way to the trash where it belongs. this was the worst [$] bucks i ever spent. if anyone reads this, do yourself a favor and do not buy this meat grinder.

My old one finally wore out and is not sharp enough now to cut frozen butter, but then its 60 years old, was my grandmother's before me. I use it to make my own bread crumbs, crush crackers, even grind nuts. Hope this one is as good as my old one.
Diana Z on Dec 7, 2016

My mother had one of these when I was growing up. It's the best thing since sliced bread. What a great way to use your leftovers and make yummy sandwiches. Her ham and chicken salad was to die for. Her secret was to add a few bread and butter pickles to it. Try it you'll just love it. Being cast iron this tool will last forever if you take care of it. Can't wait to start using it. Turkey sandwiches are going to be a little more special this year. Thank you. Betty

The meat grinder will grind meat with its cutter disc. What other type of disc does it include? Is there a built-in permanent disc?
Marion G on Jun 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My meat grinder is small but the disk aren't built -in permanently. It will grind meats ,vegitables and fruit.
It will grind like hamgurger or chuncks. My mother's cast iron grinder was quiet a bit larger and after meat was ground and seasoned there was a funnel attachment to thread the casings on and we stuffed them with the sausage meat. That was great. Hope this is some help.
Is it dishwasher safe?
A shopper on Sep 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I put mine thru the dishwasher everytime I use it, about once a week--no problems at all.
