I will buy these forever!
If you have never seen a Baltimore Oriole eat jelly, and they are in your area. You have to get at least one of these feeders. And what is more handy is the food? Grape Jelly, a staple in every home (here in Oklahoma anyway). I hadn't been able to get this little feeder for some time, and kept repairing the one I had. One more internet search and I had my feeders. Thank you Miles Kimball! Our Orioles are very happy now.

Great Feeder
I saw this feeder in your catalog. I hung it next to the hummingbird feeder on a bent wire from the gutter in front of the kitchen window. Those Orioles took to it right away. They don't nibble at our orange slice feeder or the hummingbird feeder they just purch and gobble jelly. They ate through a grape jelly jar in one week! I was busy with an ice tea spoon pulling jelly forward. Now I need to remove the kitchen window screen to take pictures and video. Then I can send emails to my frinds and say look what I've got. We have had males, females, and immatures at the jelly jar. They can't stay away! I put a new jar out and by the time we finished supper there were peck marks in the jelly. I recommend attaching the wire to the back holes of the cradle so the jar is more horizontal. That will make it easier for keeping jelly at the mouth of the jar for the feeding birds.

Jam/Jelly Bird Feeder
Cant wait to get this to my mom. She loves her birds This looks like a great way to enjoy them

Cute but not strong enough
Must be made for Northern Birds, very few even tried the jelly. Finally washed the jelly out and filled with seeds. Worked until it finally fell apart. Poorly made, too much plastic.

How do the birds get the jelly or jam out of the bottom of the jar? I bought a glass hummingbird feeder recently that feeds from the top. I didn't realize that the birds could not feed very far down into the container. It is filled by stopper flowers (with holes in the middle) on top of the feeder. Inventors, distributors, and sales companies should test these kinds of things more thoroughly - like putting one in their own yards!
Weasel on May 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. When the jelly gets down to 2" from the bottom, we recommend scooping the jelly forward toward the mouth or to refill the jelly jar at that time. If you do not wish to do so, we recommend using a baby jar filled with jelly. We hope this information will be of help to you.
Won't the ants or wasps be attracted to the jam/ jelly? What keeps them out?
Linda N on May 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I haven't had any problem with ants. The bees don't seem to be attracted to the jelly. Orioles aren't the only birds attracted to this. I get woodpeckers and various other birds.
Does the jam feed tilt as the jam gets lower in jar?
Marilyn S on Mar 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You need to switch the holder down to the next position when the jam gets lower.
