The one I received is white and it's opaque. Because of a very light/thin padding you will not see the actual finish of the table.

I bought this table pad for our dining room table. I use it under poly blend table cloths and it works just great and stays in place and protects the wood.
Ive bought pads & tablecloths for round & oval tables. I have no idea if these fit square tables. The elastic fits well & snuggly for round & oval.
My old one was not elasticized so now that it is also ruined by melted rubber, this looks like a good option
to protect my kitchen table.
