Every year my girlfriend and I can two 40 lb boxes of apples to make our canned apple pie filling for the year. We have the apple peeler and use it by attaching it to the kitchen counter; placing the apple on the prongs and turning the crank. Uniformly round, medium sized apples work best. It peels and cores the apples and slices fairly well. Sometimes we do have to clean-up the core area to remove the missed "toe nails"; heat the apples in a sugar and spice mixture and can them. It is definitely easier than hand peeling and slicing the apples by hand.

I've had one of these for over 10 years and the base has gotten wobblely for all the use. Need a new one before the old one breaks and I can't find this anymore.
We have Arthritis, very difficult to peel apples for deserts. Looks like this will be ideal.
