Comments about West Bend® Cook & Tote™ - Stainless:
I did like it but is not the same as the ones from years ago they were made much better. this one did work ok to do small one pot meals or reheat food. I did like the carrying case, alot easier to tranport.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Time changes all things
I had a West Bend for many many years and it always was my go to cooker, but as all good things, it came to an end and I had to throw it out, It was over 20 years old! The new one does not even begin to compare to the quality of the old one. This one has the coating coming off the outside, it does not regulate the heat like the old one, things stick so easily that I now use a slow cooker bag whenever using it. It is just in my opinion, a waste of good money. The first new one that I ordered had to be sent back to West Bend because it was damaged right out of the box, the next one that came was stolen off my porch and finally this one I have now sucks! Not worth all the money I spent on it. Save your money and purchase a different brand for much less the cost.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Didn't like it
About Me Casual Cook
I was very disappointed in it. I put food in it and waited for it to warm up and start cooking like a crock pot but it just sat there.so I sent it back. It wasn't what I wanted.

Good cooker tight tote
from Troy, MI
The cooker works great but the tote is hard to get closed with the lid on(which is what I bought this model for). The pot also seems a little flimsy, but I like the light weight of it. I guess that is the trade off.

Do not buy
Just received the West Bend 5 quart crock pot. Time of receiving order excellent. I had a West Bend a long time ago and loved it. Was putting off buying one because of cost. Decided I'd go ahead and get this one. When I lifted the box it felt too light. When I removed the box and took the crock pot out I got a sick feeling. The product itself looks ok, but... There was a scratch on the small rim on the nonstick surface to the metal and a couple small scuffs and scratches but not to the metal. The "pot" part is so light I couldn't believe it. When I put the lid on it, it didn't even fit. At first I thought because the metal is so lightweight and thin it was probably bent but it did not appear to be bent. The base seemed to be ok. It was a little heavier but not like the old one. There is night and day between the newer one. The cost is way beyond what it is worth. One's for 1/3 the cost are better made. This really surprised me for being West Bend. I'm thinking the brand is no longer produced by the same people that produced it years ago. The pot did fit on the base ok. I did not try the plastic cover or the carrying case. With the glass lid not fitting there was no reason to.
