Comments about Reach Extender:
Hubby has dementia & drops things. This allows him to pick up things he has dropped without getting out of his chair.

I used this to pick up things from my garden, yard and my home when I could not bend over due to back injury. I picked up a few things that were very light and it was fine. It does help me reach things in my kitchen that are on high shelves. I was picking up trash (strewn in the yard by lazy garbage men who spilled trash)when the metal rod broke at the bend part of the rod. The rod also kept coming off the wooden stick. My grandson was able to bend the hook on the rod so it would stay attached to the stick. He soldered the broken part back onto the metal rod. It isn't pretty but it worked. This is made very flimsy and is not strong like the one I bought 10 years ago.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this for my husband to replace a similar product he used to reach model trains up on shelves. He really likes this one because it has an adjustable grasp that adapts to objects of different widths. He also says it is well-made, compared to others he's had in the past.
exactly what I needed

About Me Arthritic, Short Term User
I needed a 'grabber' like this for a while now, since having both hips replaced over the last 2 years and being advised not to be climbing up on a stepstool or ladder to reach things in the house. Most of the ones I'd found were made of light plastic and were flimsy, at best. This one is much stronger, having the wooden section. The clamp at the end is metal, but coated in a thick rubber that gives a much better grip than the bare metal ones I'd tried before.
Very disappointing. Cheat material and poor construction.

I need this type of extender to reach my upper shelves, since I am no longer able to get on a step stool or use a ladder.
I will buy this again

My mother had bought this years & years ago. I had it after she passed for about 8 yrs when it finally broke. I am only 5'1" so I do use it a lot instead of always bringing out my 3 step ladder.

This wouldn't last a minute. Very poorly made. Should have paid attention to other poor reviews before I purchased.
It gets the job done.

I needed to pick up some clothing from the back of the dryer. This grabber got the job done. It is flimsy. A couple of times, I had to hook it up so it would work right. But for the price, it's ok.
