Comments about Bird Scarer Windsock:
It's too long for the patio and unless strong wind, it doesn't waive. It is too stiff.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Retake our space
from Ft Wayne IN
We were unable to use our balcony due to the bird mess. After putting pu the bird scarer wind socks the birds are gone and we can enjoy the space ourselves.

As a shoo away for birds. It's very effective. And we can see the wind with it. I am a repeat buyer, and I bought three this time . All are in use.
Deters birds from my garden
from Bovey, Minnesota USA
I purchased because the birds were flying through my fenced garden. I use deer fencing which is a tall netting and almost invisible. The birds were getting caught in it and also in the winter the deer go right through it. So far, no bird holes and hopefully no deer holes in the winter.

I bought this to replace a similar holographic sock that got destroyed. I did not realize that the streamers have a different design on each side. One side is striped in different colors, and I do not care for it. The strings mounted at the top are not knotted evenly in the middle, so the windsock does not hang completely balanced. It is much heavier than my previous one. Although this probably means that it is more sturdy, it does not move as easily when air around it circulates. So, I do not know if it will actually scare off birds. I bought it to use outside, to scare birds, but decided to put it in my living room. I may change my mind, and try it outside.I am saying that I would not recommend it, but that is dependent on the purpose you want it for.
We'll see if this works!

Each summer a few birds build nests in the rafters of our shed - a 4 stall farm building where 4 cars are parked. Hopefully this will scare them away.
Bird Scarer Windsock
from Livonia MI
I use the windsock in the garden and along side the pool. It seems to scare away most of the birds. I use to have problems with ducks using the pool, but now they don't hang around.

Shiny and bright used in garage for a guide. easy to see
from Palm Desert
As I stated above we use it to hang from the ceiling as a guide when we are backing in our Tahoe. Better to see more visible than the old tennis ball hanging from the ceiling:) We didn't get it to keep birds away!!! So it works for our needs.
