I put the strips under a bright light for several hours, but they glowed for only a short time. In the middle of the night they were no longer glowing.

Not worth the bother

Installing them wasn't worth the effort. After all three were installed (easy to do)in dining room with ceiling lights on all day and evening, bedroom and hall, I looked for at least a week and can barely see the strips. In the case of the bedroom one, since the light is rarely on in there, I couldn't see it at all.
