About Me Practical
Comments about Green Depression Style Glass Salt Cellar:
The design of this is exactly what I wanted, but the color is emerald green, not light green. It's still functional enough that I did not return it, but the color was a great disappointment. I wish I had read reviews before I ordered it. Don't buy this if you are looking for a light green to match the rest of the set.

Much quicker than unscrewing the salt shaker lid. Was hoping to get the light green as advertised, to match the green glass salt/pepper shakers I also purchased, but the emerald green is lovely too. Since this seems to be a common thread in the reviews maybe they could add a "color may vary" caveat?

About Me Stylish
Good size, holds about a cup of salt. I bought two, one for salt and the other for pepper. They both read salt, too bad they don't make one that reads pepper. Turned the container so the wording is in the back..

nice emerald green

Salt cellar is much darker than the picture, but for me this is perfect because it matches my 1930's set of glass tableware.
Darker color than shown
As others have mentioned here, you may get an emerald green (dark) salt cellar rather than the more well known light green Depression glass color that is pictured here. Miles Kimball used to sell emerald green ones, which makes me wonder if they accidentally have older, darker inventory mixed in with new. We got an emerald green one and were disappointed, but it's still a useful item to have and a pretty glass color. If I was sold on the light Depression glass green this would get one star due to not being as advertised; however, the emerald green is also pretty. I really think, since this is a consistent issue with customers, that inventory should be looked at.Also, there is no rubber gasket to keep a tight seal on the salt cellar. It's still a beautiful piece, though, and so useful when cooking.

Very disappointed in color
from Smithville Arkansas
Very excited to find this salt shaker, but when it arrived the color was completely different from what was shown. Miles Kimball doesn't seem to care that the color is not even close to what they show. So now I am stuck with a dark emerald green salt cellar instead of a celery green which was shown unless I want to ship it back and pay for their mistake. Very Disappointed
Bottom LineNo, I would not recommend this to a friend
I have other green depression pieces, so it was great to have a matching salt cellar. However, the cellar is a darker green than the other pieces. At first, the darker color bothered me, but I loved the size and style and I had been looking for a salt box for the past year. I'm glad I kept it because I just love it.

Color is way to dark, not anything like green depression glass, in the corner it looks almost black, very disappointed, I was expecting the color shown in the book and online.
