The general rating of 2.6 is generous to the extreme. I have yet to use this gadget successfully.

This coffee filter separator was totally useless, it would just slide over the filter. I sanded the ends to make it less slick but this didn't help.

This thing did not work at all. Mom has one that works great that she bought years ago, but the rubber tips on that one are softer and more "grabby". This one has hard plastic nubs on the end that don't grab the paper at all. Just slips across the filter paper. I even washed it as recommended on the packaging to remove any oils that it might have picked up but that didn't work. I am disgusted and would send it back but not worth the postage.

I was so excited to receive this I hate pulling the liners apart. This would not separate any nor pick any up. was very disappointed.

The tips are a bit slick so they don't grab the paper filters. I tried washing them hoping it might remove a film from the factory,but it didn't help. I was going to put it in a pile for a garage sale, but realized I would be selling someone something that did not work. It is so useless that I threw it in the garbage. I was very disappointed. It is advertised for people with limited dexterity, but the pressure you need to squeeze the tongs is hard.
