Comments about Topsy Turvy Tomato and Herb Planter:

We only just put these up the other day. So far, they all seem to be good. I had wanted to purchase six, because our front porch gets so much heat and western sun into our first floor apartment every summer, so that we could have our veggies and our shade, too! We only have three of them filled as of this writing, with a plum tomato plant in the bottom of each and strawberries, basil and cilantro, respectively, in their containers on the sides. we plan to grow some peppers and other vegetables in the other three, perhaps with some lettuces in the sides since lettuce can grow better in the shade and we can put those into the shady sides, and will purchase some good healthy plants to put in those. We filled ours with a mix 3:1 of humus to peat moss. Yes, they're heavy! But the hooks seem to be holding up well and the containers seem to be strong enough, too. I really like the pivoting top so you can turn them around for even sun! How they'll do in the long run I cannot say right now but we're looking forward to a nice harvest later on this summer and a nice, cool house with no blinding summer sun! I only gave this 4 stars because I haven't really experienced them for very long.

Comments about Topsy Turvy Tomato and Herb Planter:

This planter is heavy when filled with soil so you do need a sturdy pole, A Laundry line pole works well for me. I have used these planters for
three years in a row, I love them and so does my
    tomato plants!

Comments about Topsy Turvy Tomato and Herb Planter:

Novelty item that isn't worth the bother. When filled with soil, a plant and water, this is VERY VERY heavy. There is a small opening on the top for watering and it's hard to get to if you have it hanging up high enough so the plant is at eye level. I bought 3, used 1 and gave the rest away. Never ever again!

After it's filled and planted, these are heavy! My trellis tipped over and they got a little smushed but are coming on strong now. Plants thrive in these things, keep 'em watered!
