I ordered this item because there was something black on a section of my iron. I followed the directions and it did remove some of the black stuff, but not all of it. I ended up having to buy a new iron which ended up being cheaper than the cost of this item [...].

Did I miss something in the description? I thought this produck would clean the gunk off my iron. When I received it, the directions said it cleans spray starch off the iron, not burned on residue. So who uses spray starch anymore? I do, however, have buildup on my iron. Wish I could find something that really cleans all the mess off.

This works great for cleaning all kinds of junk off your iron! Mine was such a mess that it took about 5 applications, but I had previously thought it would never come clean, so I'm really happy with this. It is kind of messy to apply because the warm iron melts the cleaner and it drips a lot, so put a towel or something under the iron!
