This is the third one of these I have owned. I loved the first one(which was the product shown in ad). It lasted years. When it finally broke I ordered another one. It was another version of the product, with more plastic parts. This broke very shortly after I got it. Because I am in a wheelchair, and this product really helps me by extending my reach, I thought I would try again, hoping(since the ad still shows the original version of the product) that I would get the one I wanted. Sadly, that was not the case.

As I said in an earlier review, this is a good product for the price. I use it constantly for deadheading - especially in the middle of the border - and for shaping things like globe arborvitae.

I've owned two of these. The first one looked like the one pictured. It lasted for years and was a great help in extending my reach from a wheelchair. I'm sure I used it on many things that it was not intended for. When it finally wore out, I ordered another one. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was a different model from the one pictured and did not last very long at all! Too much plastic in the mechanism. I desperately need another one, but don't want to take a chance in getting the second model again. I would only recommend this to a friend if I were assured that it would be the original model.

For the price this is a decent product. I did not expect it to cut really woody branches or other thick material. It clearly was not intended for that. I have used it successfully to trim small branches and to shape bushes like arborvitae. For deadheading, trimming back vines and other small to medium jobs, I found it extremely useful and easy to use. So much so that I am ordering a second one.

Complete waste of money. Doesn't cut even thin branches and leaves a ragged cut after several attempts.
