Comments about Bird Scarer Windsock:
As I stated above we use it to hang from the ceiling as a guide when we are backing in our Tahoe. Better to see more visible than the old tennis ball hanging from the ceiling:) We didn't get it to keep birds away!!! So it works for our needs.
Bottom LineYes, I would recommend this to a friend

Bird Scarer IT WORKS...
We have an in the ground swimming pool and it seems the black birds love to do Ariel bombardment... Well with the Bird Scarer Wind Sock attached to our privacy fence the bombardments have GREATLY lessened. Thanks for a cleaner pool and patio....

I have bought this product in the past to use as a deterant for birds around our boat, however this time I ordered two of them and they both were squashed and not the same as I had order B4.Not a big deal as they don't cost alot, but will look for something different to scar the birds away.
Bottom LineNo, I would not recommend this to a friend

We have had trouble with birds hitting our large windows. Since I love the birds, I was upset to see them injured or worse. These blow enough and are bright enough to keep the birds from crashing into the windows.
Great solution for boats

These wind socks work GREAT to keep birds from camping out on my power boat while it's in the slip in the marina. I have a 35' boat and have 4 of them on the flybridge and the movement and reflection they provide work well. The small metal clasps do rust quickly and the mylar fades within a few weeks, but they still keep the birds away. They're a good, affordable solution to keep "nesting" birds off of the boat & canvas.
Keeps birds away

The bird scarer is placed in my window because birds kept flying in to it, due to the sun's glare.

I hung a clothes line over the garden where I WANTED it to blow. I tied plastic bags to the rope to stop it just short of not hanging over the garden. Worked like a charm. However, these Sea Gulls still continued to land on and break my tomatoes or pull up my peppers.
