Broke with first use

I had been debating about getting a pineapple slicer for a long time and I'm glad I finally got one. However, I'm not glad that I got it from Miles Kimball. The handle clamps broke half way through the first time using it and I had to finish the job without it. It is very cheaply made and I have since seen sturdier ones at a local kitchen shop that I might give a try, because I did like the end result.

The slices come out evenly. The only thing I don't like about it is,the juices run out of the bottom and, the core gets stuck in the shaft.

This little machine works better than you canimagine.Cut the top off the pineapple , startcork screwing with a few turns and within a fewseconds the entire pineapple is done. wonderful.

The first time I used this it worked fine. SECOND time it appeared some part was missing so the handle moved around and did not do the job. Also nothing to push the core out. Did a piece get left in the first pineapple? ---might have helped if there had been directions. There were NO instructions in the box at all.

I never ate fresh pineapple before I bought this item. Now I will NEVER go back to canned pineapple! It is so easy to use, and fresh pineapple tastes SO much better than the canned stuff.

I've tried a lot of different methods of slicing pineapple but this little tool is the best. Uniform slices and a hollowed out pineapple that can be used for decorative purposes once the fruit is removed. I like using the pineapple juice in recipes and this little device allows you to save all of that good stuff!
