Comments about West Bend® Cook & Tote™ - Stainless:

Just received the West Bend 5 quart crock pot. Time of receiving order excellent. I had a West Bend a long time ago and loved it. Was putting off buying one because of cost. Decided I'd go ahead and get this one. When I lifted the box it felt too light. When I removed the box and took the crock pot out I got a sick feeling. The product itself looks ok, but... There was a scratch on the small rim on the nonstick surface to the metal and a couple small scuffs and scratches but not to the metal. The "pot" part is so light I couldn't believe it. When I put the lid on it, it didn't even fit. At first I thought because the metal is so lightweight and thin it was probably bent but it did not appear to be bent. The base seemed to be ok. It was a little heavier but not like the old one. There is night and day between the newer one. The cost is way beyond what it is worth. One's for 1/3 the cost are better made. This really surprised me for being West Bend. I'm thinking the brand is no longer produced by the same people that produced it years ago. The pot did fit on the base ok. I did not try the plastic cover or the carrying case. With the glass lid not fitting there was no reason to.
