Secure hooks wouldn't fit our window so we had to screw it to the sill.The cover was very difficult to put on before the shelf was screwed in place...absolutely IMPOSSIBLE once it was screwed in place.I thought they had packaged a regular size cover in with my large shelf so I sent for a replacement.I was wrong..received same size.I folded a small fleece blanket to top the shelf..Sunny loves it.

We ordered the Large size and it was nice to have that option! We wanted it to be secure so we opted to screw this into the sill since 'our boy' is 'full figured'. The legs can be adjusted from the available holes already drilled in the perch. They were easy to adjust & seem very stable. This is just as nice as the more expensive ones (we have 2 of those). I personally like the option of being able to remove the cover to wash it if needed. We vacuum this frequently & haven't had to wash it yet.

The shelf sits in our one sunny window. It was not sturdy enough for her to jump up on. We screwed it into the window sill to make it stronger

I placed the shelf where my cats could use it to watch the birds and squirrels, then have a nap. It was easy to assemble; and they love it.

As directed, I have this item at the largest window in my TV room. It is big, soft and keeps the cat high enough he's out of the pup's tormentive reach. My only disappointment is that I thought the window brackets extended UNDER the window for added support and they do not. A small piece of metal extends from the bed downward to fit between the window and the sill. Not a lot of support as a tug or bump could pull it out.

I love the fact that the cover comes off and is washable. (for those who are having trouble with the cover and are complaining about the size, it does appear to be small but if u start off putting it on at the upper right corner and then run the cover the long way to the upper left corner straightening and pulling as u go, there is no problem getting it on. The nice thing about the tight fit, is, its just that- a tight fit! No accidentally pulling it off when the kitties are jumping on and off) My other tip is to assess the type of window/sill you have. This works best with windows that close close to the ledge itself and with ledges that are less wide. There are 2 hooks that are installed at the topmost of the shelf that slide into the space between the sill and where the window closes. If your windows dont close flush to the sill, u will have to use 2 woodscrews drilled into your ledge to install or u will have a catperch that is not level and leans off to the back. All in all its a great product and u definately cant get them at the store for this price!
