I've had one on my key chain for close to 20 years and the emergency cash has saved me over and over. Examples: out at night and need funds to catch a cab home, forgot wallet at home and had money for the train and lunch. I have given these as gifts for years and will continue to do so. Love them.

We ordered these as gifts for friends and family. As another reviewer brilliantly suggested, we had their phone numbers engraved on the case instead of names. That way, if the keys are lost, someone will hopefully call.

The quality (we ordered silver-toned) looks great. It's designed in such a way that it's not obvious that the cylinder is hollow.

It wasn't easy but I managed to stuff two $20 bills in the cylinder. I folded them together lengthwise in thirds then rolled them as tight as possible. Getting them out required multiple taps on a hard surface, but they eventually came out. Because there's a small hole in the bottom of the cylinder (another great design feature), one could use a paperclip or small nail to push the bills up and out instead of repeatedly tapping the cylinder.

The cylinder will easily hold one folded bill, so it's great to have for those times when you've left your wallet at home!

Do not listen to the people who are too stupid to figure out this simple, easy to use life saver. I really do not understand why there are so many people who cannot figure out how to use this wonderfully designed item. I have been searching for these, to give as gifts, cause my friends keep trying to get mine away from me. In 2000 I bought 2 of these called "Cash In Case" from a travel store, for my trip to Scotland. One to use for a U.S. $50, and one to use for a British 50 pound note. I figured my bases would be covered either way. I paid [$] each for them. And they have been worth every penny of that. They only came in chrome color, with a brass plug. I have been using them constantly for over 12 years. They have never NOT been on my keychain. Ever. I fold the bill in half, ending up with a really skinny bill. Fold it in half again, the other way. Then roll the bill tightly. I place the folded end of the rolled bill into the brass plug. Sometimes I have to twist it back and forth a bit, to get it to go in. Older bills are softer, and easier for beginners to insert. I prefer the crisp new ones, myself. Assemble the holder, and it is ready to go. I have never had a bill not fit. I have never had a bill get stuck in the outer tube, and require me "poking it out". I have no idea why one reviewer would think they needed to put a hole into the bills. You cannot even imagine how many times these have saved my behind. I can have the cash out of it in less time than most women can find their wallet at the bottom of their purse. I can get a bill loaded into it in under ONE MINUTE. It's just not that hard folks. Trust me. I have 12 years of use backing me up.

This cash key ring does not work. Once a bill is inside it (only holds maybe 2 bills) you cannot put top on to close securely unless you put holes through the bills. Would not buy anything else from Miles Kimball.

I bought these for each of my daughters friends as they turn 16 and are about to get thier drivers license. Admittedly, the bill must be very tightly wrapped to fit. But for me, that's a good thing: the "kids" are less likely to rob thier emergency fund for chips and soda. Super practical and yet pretty and fun.

I purchased these for my teenage sons and engraved their cell phone numbers. If they loose their keys hopefully, the finder will call that number.
INSTRUCTIONS
­- Take the key ring off
­- Slide out the smaller inside tube
­- Fold your bill in half lengthwise
­- Place the bill on a hard surface.
­- Make the first fold about 1/8th inch, crease it
­- Continue folding the bill creasing it as you make each fold.
­- When completely rolled, insert the bill into the smaller, inside tube that you removed after you took off the key ring.
­- Slip that smaller tube back into the larger tube. Put the closed end of the small tube in first. The bill should be at the top end where you will now reattach the key ring.

When you need to use the bill, take the key ring off, turn the tube upside down. The weight of the smaller, inside tube will carry the bill right out.

Yes, the key ring only holds one bill as it is not meant to be a wallet.
