I used the edger to clear off grass encroaching on the sidewalk. The assembly was easyA couple of screws loosened with use.on the bottom.
Maybe my soil is too hard, or a big man would be able to get it to push into the soil
Bottom LineNo, I would not recommend this to a friend

I use to maintain existing edges of lawn. I only weigh 110 lbs, but this edger blade would not cut through even a blade of grass.

Heavy-duty blade bends very easily...
from gainesville, florida
I tried using the edger along my walking paths and was very disappointed when on the third cut the blade bent when it encountered an English ivy root! Once the blade has been bent, the tool is virtually useless since, even after straightening, the blade continues to bend, even more easily. I'm having the blade replaced with an iron blade as found on the old crescent-shaped edger tools.

THIS IS A GREAT EDGER! Reading the other reviews about the blade bending, I was a bit skeptical when I bought it, but took the chance anyhow. SOOO glad I did! The blade IS heavy duty, if you're bending it, you're hitting rocks and instead of stopping you're more than likely trying to chop through the rock with the blade, so it's no wonder it bent! This worked great as an EDGER! If you're using it for it's intended use (to edge walkways where grass/dirt has grown over) it'll work fine with no bend in blade. We had our water lines replaced this spring. The water company managed to cover 25% of our concrete walkway up to the house with dirt and then grass seed that turned to grass. Using this tool gave us our walk back and left a very clean and fine edge. Wonderful product if you use it for what it's intended for!
