I have recommended this strainer to my family and others who live in my apartment building.Unlike the regular drain stopper this one you don't have to keep taking out to run water like to rinse dishes. I love it.

I am surprised someone said it rusts easily. Mine have never changed in any way over at least 5 years. I guess it is not as shinny as when new. I suppose different water may make a difference. We have a water softener but still have a lot of iron and need to use a filter. I needed the first one in the bathroom sink because the stopper no longer worked and had to remove it (only use it manually now). This worked good to keep things going down the drain. Such as a nylon knee hi among a few other things. I am ordering another one for the bathtub since the same thing happened. One of these years we need some new stoppers!! Good enough for now. Easy to clean with an old toothbrush or in the dishwasher.

The product works but very disappointed with it's appearance. I purchased this about 6 wks ago & it has already rusted. Not just a spot or 2 but the entire screen is now rusty, however the top ring of it is fine. I was expecting it to last a little longer than that being stainless steel.

Only difficult thing is you have to remove the drain stopper, crawling under the sink to remove, and it means you can't stopper the water in the sink any longer, but for me it's worth it knowing I'm helping to keep the pipes flowing freely.
